Former Assistant Bishop Zac Niringiye Attacked by Unknown Assailants in Kampala

Bishop Zac Niringiye, who previously served as Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Kampala, was assaulted by unidentified assailants in Ntinda, Kampala.


Niringiye was engaging in a morning jog when an individual on a motorbike struck him on the posterior part of his head, causing him to plummet to the ground.


Police haven’t yet made any statements regarding this incident.


Nonetheless, an observer described observing a man assaulting Niringiye before swiftly departing on a motorcycle.


“The perpetrator took Niringiye’s cellular device,” stated the witness, who captured a video of the clergyman wincing in agony as kind-hearted individuals assisted him in rising from the ground.


Niringiye possesses a Doctorate in Theology and Mission History from the University of Edinburgh, UK, a Master’s degree in Theology from Wheaton College, USA, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Teaching Diploma from Makerere University, Uganda.


He is a distinguished figure with both national and international recognition, boasting a background as a ecclesiastical leader, theologian, advocate for peace and social justice, and a consultant in organizational development.


He relinquished his role as Assistant Bishop to become actively involved in civic-political movements in Uganda.
