
The government gifts Kiboga farmers with milk equipment worth shs.1 billion.
The government appealed to the animal farmers to take advantage of the growing market by increasing milk production and selecting good-quality animal breeds that can give much milk.
This was disclosed by the minister of state for agriculture in charge of Animal husbandry, Bright Rwamiramwa, as he commissioned a mini milk processing factory in Kiboga district, a donation from the Government of Uganda through the National Agricultural Advisory Services (Naads).

The Equipment gifted to Dwaniro Dairy Livestock and Farmers' Cooperative located In dentation Sub County, Kiboga District has the capacity to bulk 40,000 litres per day.
It has 400 core members serving 875 dedicated farmers supplying an average of 30,000 liters of milk daily.
The Minister urging Ugandans interested in dairy farming to select good quality breeds of animals says government support to organized farmers groups aims to improve household incomes for dairy farmers by helping them produce high-quality, value-added dairy products.

“Farming as a business you to observe four things ,the first one is select the breeds which are very efficient and resilient and clamatized to our condition ,breeds that will bring you substantive amount of milk or beef ,the second one is animal nutrition ,however much you have a good breed you must feed the animals with the right feed formula ,the third one is the disease control , you have to make sure you control disease and controlling disease is more of prevention than curing the disease , we encourage the farmers to vaccinate against FMD and other diseases ,then the fourth one is to make sure observe the quality of what they produce be it local consumers or outside consumers ,as ministry of Agriculture we intervene on all the value chain stages of every commodity,"said Rwamirama .
