28TH AUGUST 2024

Speaker of parliament Anita Among halted the plea by Lwemiyaga County mp Theodore Ssekikubo to include his seeking to censure the four Parliamentary Commissioners over the Shs1.7Bn Service Award is not on the order paper.

Ssekikubo stood on the floor of parliament that sat in Gulu and asked the speaker to explain why he denied them a chance to table their censure motion on the floor of parliament and yet they had got all the required signatures.

Ssekikubo told the speaker that they spent days in different parts of Uganda, particularly in Gulu while collecting signatures but it is absurd that they have been denied a chance to table their motion.

“our motion was rightly processed and given to your office madam speaker, as I was seeking signatures with my colleagues we camped also in Gulu , the people of Gulu have come back to you to show you that I never ended in shame, the signatures were obtained and can I be allowed to raise procedure”, said ssekikubo .

In her response to the Lwemiyaga Mp Theodor Ssekikubo, the speaker of parliament told him and other mps not to bring their nonsense to Gulu .

He advised them to take their nonsense to Kampala in their parliamentary building noting that in Gulu their only going to debate matters concerning the northern region.

"This session is devoted for the people of Northern Uganda and for us to discuss issues regarding the Greater North, let us have respect for the people of the Greater North. We should learn to have respect. Issues that don’t concern this region, shouldn’t be issues to be discussed. You have your Kampala House there, where you can do all the manyanga (Nonsense),"speaker Among said.
